A Step by Step Guide

Setting up emails Using the Email Application on an Apple (iOS) Device

Before you start you will need your Email Address, Password and the Incoming & Outgoing Server Details.

Please ensure that you enter these details at all times correctly. The email address should be entered in lower-case (no capital letters), the Password will be a mixture of Capitals, Lower Case and Numbers, & the Incoming and Outgoing Server details should be entered in lower-case (no capital letters).

Stage One

First we need to find the Email Settings on the phone or tablet which you wish to install the Email Account(s) on. 

First we need to  click on Settings on the phone or tablet which you wish to use and then click Passwords & Accounts.

Stage Two

On the next screen you will see all of your relevant accounts.

You now need to click Add Account on the phone or tablet which you wish to install the Email Account(s) on.

Stage Three

On the next screen you will be given various options.

You now need to click Other and then on the next screen you need to click Add Mail Account on the phone or tablet which you wish to install the Email Account(s) on.

Stage Four

You now need to enter your name, email address & password.

The Name is how you want to appear when sending emails, you can use your own name, or business name.

Please make sure you are very careful when entering your email address all in lower case (no capital letters), and your password carefully with any Capital letters & Numbers.

Finally Description is auto filled, this can be altered and is just to help you distinguish between multiple accounts.

After entering both correctly press NEXT in the top right.

Stage Five

The next stage is all on one long screen, so to start with you should scroll to the top where we begin.

The Name, Email Address & Description should be already completed from the previous screen. However you can alter this now if/as required.

You now need to enter the Incoming Server Settings.

The Host Name/IMAP server/incoming mail server, will have been provided to you; it should look like this: imap.example.com and should be entered in lowercase (no capital letters).

The User Name is your email address, and should be entered in lowercase (no capital letters). The Password must be entered very carefully, paying close attention to any Capital letters and Numbers.

You now need to enter the Outgoing Server Settings.

The Host Name/SMTP server/outgoing mail server, will have been provided to you; it should look like this: smtp.example.com and should be entered in lowercase (no capital letters).

The User Name is your email address, and should be entered in lowercase (no capital letters). The Password must be entered very carefully, paying close attention to any Capital letters and Numbers.

Once Completed please click Next In the Top Right. You will know if this has been completed correctly as Green Ticks should appear after a short time.

Stage Six

You now need to Save in the top right of the phone or tablet which you wish to install the Email Account(s) on.

Stage Seven

Your email is now Installed!

To access the email account, you just need to go to the Application.
